Description
This original gyotaku was created on Maui using a replica of a baby green sea turtle. No real turtles were used, just deep respect for these endangered honu.
Using a replica allows me to honor the beauty and spirit of the honu without harm, preserving their image while supporting their survival. It’s a mindful, respectful approach rooted in the traditional Japanese art of gyotaku, where each print tells a story of connection to nature.
Printed on beautiful, eco-conscious hemp paper, this 8 x 10″ artwork invites reflection on the delicate balance between human creativity and the natural world we cherish. Titled and signed in pencil and then stamped with my red seal.
